Joy in the Journey.

We are on the final stretch of our packing up...

Hello everyone,

Since I wrote you last, our schedules have been filled to the top with transitioning our ministries, transitioning our animals, a lot of goodbyes to the students we have been ministering to, doubling up on homeschooling so that we don’t have to take so many books to the states, and packing, packing, packing.  On our calendar it has said, “our final ________” over and over in the past several weeks.  Our friends have gone above and beyond to help us with a successful garage sale (on the coldest week of the year!), blessing our socks off with free creative classes for our teens, helping with packing, free dentistry, a family photo shoot and SO many meals.  We are humbled and so so thankful for our community and friends here.  We are having a couple of farewell events and then in less than a week, we will be “leaving on a jet plane…don’t know when we’ll be back again!”  Please pray for strength and deep rest for us as we are on this final stretch.  We are thrilled to be coming to USA to be with you all, but it is difficult to pack up our life into storage with all the unknowns surrounding our return. It has been a season full of mixed emotions and we are pretty tired.

We are still trying to coordinate the final things for storage part B, but hopefully it will all come together later today.  We have had so many frustrating setbacks and delays and Dan’s stress level is super high.  We’ve had more electricity issues than usual, water issues, our vehicle has had major engine trouble, and acquiring storage containers and moving them has been exceedingly frustrating and have taken extra hours and hours of Dan’s time.  An international transition is challenging normally, but these extra things are so bothersome.

We recently met with our agent and she and her team will continue to move things along and advocate for us while we are in the States.  We could get an answer any day if Plan A works, but Plan B seems the most likely to work, and we will probably need to wait to hear from that one until September or October.  We promise to keep you posted, but please keep praying for a favorable and quick response.

Please email me at: janell@magezi.org  if you would like us to come and share with your group, your church, your youth, your camp, etc.  We would love to connect with as many of you as possible and will be available from September.  We will primarily be between Seattle, WA and Portland, OR but will likely take a couple side trips to other states.

Thank you for covering us with your prayers during this transition.  See you soon!

Janell, for all of us

These are the students that are either in Dan or I’s devotional class on Tuesday mornings (Grade 5, 6, and 7) or in Dan‘s Life Orientation Class that he teaches on Friday mornings.  They ordered pizza for breakfast for all the students and the blessed us, prayed over us and confirmed many times the impact we’ve had on their lives.  We are so thankful to have had a chance to deposit some love and truth into their hearts in the last year and a half.

These girls are from New Horizon College and were in my group for the Alpha Course questions.  Every week I’ve been there, I am amazed at their understanding and deep questions about faith and the Lord.  Such a joy!

Thanks for supporting us!
