...

We are sending you warm greetings from the “little town of Bethlehem”  where we are enjoying our summer holiday season.  As 2024 comes to a close, we just wanted to communicate our sincere appreciation for your love, prayers and support of our family and Magezi Ministries.

Some 2024 Highlights:

•Dan got his Permanent Residency!

•We were able to return to our ministry and community in Bethlehem in mid August.

•Janell recently got a phone call after submitting her PR application again in August which means her paperwork is moving forward.  We are so thankful!

•The Align freedom group is growing and is having breakthroughs with many more to come!!

•We had a short team of 24 young people doing ministry for a week with us from the Impact Africa mission group in October.  We ministered at 4 schools, the local children’s home, the hospital, with two impoverished communities, a women’s study, at the prison, and at 2 youth ministries.  It was an incredible week!

•There were over 60 students at New Horizon College who accepted the Lord as their Savior when the Impact Africa short term team visited their campus.

•We helped with a youth camp called G300 and it was wonderfully impacting!  We presume many of the students were already saved, but when the talk on The Eternal Choice was given, all 54 students chose to walk through the salvation door.

There are several other ministry ideas for 2025 that we are currently praying through and we are not yet able to talk about them.  We don’t know yet whether or not they will come to fruition, but all would include expanded influence and opportunities to help more people find freedom or to work more closely with students in the local schools.  We can’t wait to see what the next few months will hold!

An Opportunity to Buy Property:
Every since Dan was granted permanent residency,  we have been dreaming and  praying about buying property in Bethlehem and putting down deeper roots.  We are currently talking with a private seller regarding an 84 acre river waterfront property with a guest lodge on it.  It has two houses, 23 guest rooms, a backpackers dorm, a cafeteria, a gym, a pool, a workshop, a plant nursery, and a 3 km walking/hiking/biking trail.  We love that the property has a business built into it which will generate passive income for our ministry in the future.  It is ideal for marriage retreats, camps, and short term teams as well as being a gorgeous property for friends from all over the country to come and rest with us.  We also have been meeting with a company in eastern Washington who want to partner with us to do a greenhouse ministry and this property could easily facilitate that as well.  The seller has offered us an incredible deal – all of the above for $722,000 and that price is negotiable lower if some contracts come through for the seller before we close the deal.  They have given us 4 months to come up with a large down payment and then we hope to pay the remainder of the balance in the next 5 or so years with the income that the property generates.  Please will you consider putting your year end gift towards this property down payment?  We are unable to get a house loan in the states for international property and our credit in South Africa doesn’t look that great because the majority of our ministry money is in our USA bank account.  Ideally, we would need friends and family to help us with donations or short term private loans in order to make this possible.  You can give a donation online at www.magezi.org/give  or send a check to Magezi Ministries: PO Box 69054, SeaTac, WA 98168

Also, last year, the judge ruled that Home Affairs needs to repay us the $10,000 in court fees and it would be incredible timing if that money was returned to us in the upcoming 4 months.  Please will you pray that Home Affairs will return that money to us?

A Family Update:

Miesha just turned 17 this month and enjoys reading, painting, decorating cakes, sewing small stuffed animals to give to the toddlers that follow her around, swimming, time with friends, and anything with horses!  She will start taking violin lessons in the new year, and is trying to decide between archery and volleyball for her PE credit next year.  Miesha is still considering her options for what she wants to study after high school, but is leaning towards early childhood education as she is brilliant with children.

Titus is 15 and enjoys blade smithing (making knives) in his forge in the shop, archery, woodworking, and has been doing graphite drawings.  He is incredibly versatile and helps his dad with lots of different projects.  He is also super musical and regularly practices drums, guitar, and piano.  He is hoping to become a helicopter pilot when he graduates from high school and loves engineering and mechanics too.

Both kids love being back with their friends at church and just finished a week at camp which was hugely impacting!  They also both chose to be baptized that week and it was incredibly special to be a part of.  They are delightful and we feel so blessed to be their parents. Our teens just finished grade 10 and are ready to start grade 11 in January.  We are still homeschooling!

Dan just returned from Seattle where he was visiting his Dad and helping family friends with a project for a couple weeks.  He was able to attend the memorial service for a family friend and he enjoyed a bit of time with his family as it’s now been a year since his mom went to heaven.  He has been serving in a myriad of ways with his vast skill set and has been such a blessing to so many on both sides of the ocean.  He still runs circles around people half his age with all the practical ways he is able to serve and help people and is incredibly gifted with “getting to the heart of things” as he helps people get “unstuck” and grow in freedom.

Janell – I have been enjoying reconnecting with friends in Bethlehem!  I was invited to join a ladies Bible study/accountability group and they have been a huge blessing for me.  I also have been helping our kids finish their homeschool year, I did ministry scheduling for the short term team that came, I wrote a devotional course for the youth camp, I’m taking a finance course online, and I went to a refresher course for Sozo ministry and am looking forward to join the team of people at church who help other find freedom and victory in the new year.  We’ve done a bit of hospitality ministry and plenty of “kitchen table counseling” with people coming over for meals at our home.  This year, I will be building the kid’s homeschool year from scratch.  It will allow me to cater the work to their interests and future careers while still meeting all the requirements for them to graduate in Washington State.  We hope to be able to “take school on the road” next year with more outreach trips into Zambia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini (Swaziland) or Lesotho.

We are sincerely grateful for you all.  You bless us immeasurably with your prayers, financial support, encouragement, and commitment to us. Thank you!!

With joy,
Dan and Janell
